The past is restless living in my dreams
Coming to the surface of the pool as I sleep
Mercifully the memories are unclearly seen
Voices and sounds of my times buried deep
welding torches my nightlight as I slumber
engines my lullaby, true "Heavy Metal Thunder"
Wide smiles and angry bellows
rage and happiness are strange bedfellows
So many things I still do not understand
Even as the years have past from boy into man
I grow in spirit body and mind
Yet cracks in my armor I still seem to find
Imperfections and secrets of my own true heart
the things that are haunting me, from where did I start
My parentage no longer troubles me it is something you
learn to take
The flaws of my own humanity a haunting I cannot shake.

All different walks of life...
Racisms a learned condition
They teach it through TV
They want me to fear you
They want you to hate me
They turned the tables, use the baby born in a stable
Trying to use the holy books to put death in the fable
They know we cant unite if they keep the situation unstable
They are going to keep us split up as long as they're able
But whether you are black white brown or red
Whether you got a hijab or a ball cap on your head
Or maybe your daddy wore a sombrero instead
We gotta come together to get the economy away from the fed
Take the power back and use it to take the starving some bread
Love one another like the red words really said
They hijacked all the religion
In order to send every one of us on a mission
I see everyone itchin to start bitchin'
Crazy people cookin evil in the kitchen
While everyone sits on their hands
A hundred thousand in the stands hating one guy who took a stand
All different walks of life who call themselves fans
But you are all just slaves to a brand
John Lennon had an idea wouldnt it be grand
If we all dropped the torches and took eachothers hands
If we quit hating eachother over melanin
If we took the hate and instead of quelling it
We turned it on the people who are sellin it
The hates the game they play with your mind
Look deep inside and i bet you will find
All different walks of life are stuck in the grind
Trying to teach you to see it
Don't choose to be blind.
